I am a recent master’s graduate in Political science: Political economy from the University of Amsterdam. I am passionate about the politics and development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Furthermore, I am interested in China’s rise in the Global Political Economy and what it means for countries, in particular, the countries in the Global South. In fulfilling the requirements for the completion of my master’s degree, I completed a thesis which focused on China’s involvement with the Global South. I argued that China’s rise does create a new developmental path for the Global South, however, these countries ought to be aware of the consequences which arise as a result of their relations with China.
